Homemaker

Our homemakers are your personal home assistants! If you are able to care for yourself but have mobility or vision impairments that leave you requiring a little help with basic household duties, or homemakers are there. Homemakers do light housekeeping chores including cleaning the kitchen and bathroom; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming; laundry; and other general cleaning tasks.

Our housekeepers can aid you with meal preparation, following your recipes, their own, or those provided by your healthcare team. Whether you want freshly cooked meals or a freezer full of pre-cooked meals, our housekeepers can accommodate your needs and preferences. If you have dietary restrictions or require a modified texture diet, our team can provide you with delicious and nutritious meals that your medical team will approve of.

While our housekeepers cannot administer medications, they can be a reminder for you to take your prescription medication and supplements. Medication reminders are especially important for those whose memories are declining or who are on new regimens. Additionally, our housekeepers can escort you to medical appointments to help with transportation, advocate for you, and remember all the questions you wanted to ask your medical team.

HHA/PCA

Home Health Aides (HHA) and Patient Care Assistants (PCA) are easily some of the hardest working in-home caregivers around! Armed with some additional medical training, they are able to provide you with all of the services that a housekeepers can, but can also help you with your personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL) — hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and transferring positions. HHAs and PCAs are the ideal in-home caregiver for those who have limited mobility, require assistance with basic self-care tasks, or suffer from cognitive or memory deficits. Our HHAs and PCAs help to promote a safe home plan that includes modifying decor, monitoring and reducing risks, and helping with assistive devices.

PT/OT

Angles On Call employs the highest quality Physical Therapists (PT) and Occupational Therapists (OT) to help our clients gain or regain their mobility and function after surgery, trauma, or a stroke. The main goal of the PT/OT is to improve function and reduce complications caused by immobility. If you have a new or worsening physical impairment, our PT/OT team will conduct an in-home assessment and then create a home exercise program to improve your condition and help restore function. They will prescribe therapeutic exercises for you to do on your own and at their visits that are specific to your abilities and condition. Together, you and your PT/OT will set goals and work toward them.

As part of the PT/OT’s basic responsibilities, they will conduct an environmental safety assessment to help eliminate risks that may worsen your condition or contribute to additional injury. Their recommendations will be used by the HHA/PCA to reduce the risk of falls and incorporate safe and appropriate uses of assistive devices.

Medical and Non-Medical In-Home Care Services

Medical and Non-Medical In-Home Care Services

Nutritionist

Nutritionists are an important team member on any full-service care team. Because health and healing are largely dependent on nutrition, a nutritionist is a key player in any medical or non-medical interdisciplinary team. Your nutritionist can help develop a meal plan that will help improve your condition. Whether you need a diet that will promote healing, reduce body mass index, or improve symptoms of a disease, or you require a new diet based on your medical condition or chronic disease, your nutritionist can provide you with specific foods to eat.

The quality nutritionists and dieticians at Angels On Call Homecare will instruct a diet for you or your loved one. Many conditions may require eliminations of specific foods or modification of textures for safe swallowing. These changes can be difficult without some guidance and explanation. Your nutritionist will collaborate with other members of your team including the housekeeper for food preparation, HHA for feeding techniques, and OT for special mealtime modalities.

Medical Social Worker

Medical social workers function as advocates and liaisons between you and your family and the medical care team. Understanding benefits, diagnosis, treatments can be difficult. Medical social workers can assist with entitlements such as insurance claims, community resources, and various support entities. Medical social workers know the rules and laws and can do the legwork to coordinate and streamline your medical care.

The medical social workers at Angels On Call are also trained and licensed counselors who can provide you with individual counseling to help you cope with your situation.

Skilled medical professionals!

"This agency has been a helping hand to my grandfather for the past two years. Angels on Call was there every step of the way when my grandfather took a fall. We were assisted and coached through the entire hospital discharge and transition back to the home. What seemed like a stressful move was actually a seamless transition because of the skilled medical professionals at Angels. My grandfather adores his live-in caregiver and his weekly visits from his RN Case Manager has quickly become his favorite day of the week. They truly deliver the highest level of quality care and their commitment to my family and grandfather's needs are what sets them apart from other agencies!"
