Navigating the complexities of Parkinson’s disease can be overwhelming, but at Angels on Call Homecare, we lead the way in specialized care. We are the first and only Licensed Home Care Service Agency in the country to achieve Certified Parkinson’s Disease Care (CPDC™) accreditation. This distinction sets us apart, ensuring that your loved ones receive the highest quality, Parkinson's-specific care available, delivered by a team equipped with advanced training and compassionate understanding.
Why Our Parkinson’s Care is Unique
Our CPDC™ accreditation is not just a badge—it’s a commitment. To achieve this certification, select members of our clinical team, including our Health Services Administrator and Registered Nurse Case Managers, underwent extensive training. They are now certified Parkinson's Disease Care Advocates (CPDC™), capable of developing personalized care plans that address the unique symptoms, medication management, and therapy needs of people living with Parkinson’s. This level of expertise reassures individuals with Parkinson’s and their families that they are in capable, caring hands.

Comprehensive Support for Parkinson’s Disease with Dementia
Parkinson’s Disease (PD) can come with cognitive decline in later stages, often progressing into Parkinson’s Disease Dementia (PDD). Our CPDC™-trained team also holds advanced certifications in dementia and memory care, allowing us to seamlessly integrate both Parkinson’s and dementia care in a comprehensive and thoughtful way. As part of our Memory Care Program, built on the foundations of expert training and certifications such as the Dementia Care Specialist (DCS) Program through Johns Hopkins and other specialized institutions, we provide the expertise needed to support both cognitive and motor challenges.
Symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease Dementia may include:
- Memory loss and confusion
- Difficulty with attention and problem-solving
- Hallucinations and delusions
- Cognitive fluctuations, including "good" and "bad" days
By choosing Angels on Call, you ensure that the entire spectrum of care—from physical support to cognitive rehabilitation—is available to your loved one, enhancing their quality of life while reducing the strain on family caregivers.

Understanding Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a progressive neurological disorder primarily affecting movement, but it also has significant non-motor symptoms that affect daily living. As dopamine levels decrease, individuals experience:
- Tremors
- Muscle rigidity
- Gait disturbance/shuffling
- Impaired posture and balance
- Sleep disturbances
- Depression
- Fatigue
Parkinson's Disease Stages:
- Minimal or no symptoms
- Mild motor symptoms, no balance issues
- Moderate motor symptoms, balance impairment, ADL assistance required
- Severe motor symptoms, but can still walk/stand unassisted
- Advanced stage, requires assistance to stand or walk
